Client Spotlight Series: Jackie Moy and Fantasy Funerals
“I had a real breakthrough after our session today. I had an informational interview that made me realize something I don’t want to do. I feel a renewed commitment and focus to my life’s work and feel like its path is fully revealed to me. Thanks so much for all your help. It’s really working!”
Designing your unique afterlife celebration
I want to be called to something and be on a path that is just for me. We’ve been uncovering that path in our work together. Sometimes I feel discouraged like I’m off the path, but now I know I can find it again.
I feel a devotion to place-making and creating experiences. I have previously designed immersive entertainment spaces, worked on art installations, and coordinated events. I want to use these skills to help people make their end-of-life celebration fantastic and unusual.
I want to push the boundaries of what a funeral is. Affected by death at a young age, I believe death is worth preparing for while still living.
I have been planning my own funeral since I was 20, and it grows more elaborate and ridiculous as I grow older. Planning a joyous ritual for myself is my way of taking control of the natural fear of dying.
With Fantasy Funerals, I will help you create a non-traditional ritual that encapsulates your memory into an event through a 1:1 exploration of your life.
The image shown above is a photo of Jackie’s altar box she created to honor her inner compass as she navigates her path. In the center is a carnelian stone surrounded by red paper poppies. In the North is a skull, in the South an open eye surrounded by felt, in the West a silk cocoon, and in the East a glass jar.
