Reflections On My Path To Embodying Leadership
What does embodying leadership mean to you?
How do you see yourself as a leader?
I have been living these inquiries on embodying leadership for the past year, and I just had the opportunity this weekend to reflect on them during a performance presentation yesterday in my Tamalpa Institute Level 2 Online Training. It came to me that my path as a leader, and really as a person, begins and ends with reflection. I can see myself as an embodied leader and a mature woman, and therefore, I can take actions that are in keeping with the way I see and understand my role as a leader.
My path to embodying leadership began to take its current shape through year-long self inquiries into themes that felt closest to my personal lessons each year: being wild, fully unleashed, courage, compassion, nourishment, and now connection.
It has been a journey towards encountering my heart, meeting my inner parts who dwell inside the caverns within it, learning how to nourish my body, and these other parts that are calling out for me to embody their longings and their teachings.
My intentions with this video performance are:
To use my voice in a variety of ways to speak, sing, meet and move what leadership looks like to me.
To embody the freedom, power, softness and wisdom of a leader. I’m here on this life path to learn how to embody myself, to truly accept what arises within and express it, so I may serve as a guide to bring others into their own full and creative expressions.
To see my whole self reflected in my dance, words and actions
Please watch my video performance to see more of this journey.
