My Own Inner Compass

I am entering 2021 as a woman.

It became clear to me early on last year that 2020 was not only a year of global transformation but a deeply personal year of transformation for me as well. I created this business, Dialogical Persona Healing Arts, and began to actually live into my dreams.

But what does it mean to live into your dreams?

For me, it meant moving through the threshold between remaining an enchanting, innocent girl that others wanted to protect and becoming a young middle-aged woman who is grounded, listens to her soul’s wisdom and her sacred life force.

I heard the call, and I answered it.

I am leaving behind in 2020 all the layers I shed of myself last year to burn my way into 2021 as this grounded, fiery vision.

And so, I began this year by embodying her. I used the resources I learned last year to design a PDF Guide to Creating Your Own Inner Compass, and I decided to follow my own offering!

To my surprise, I chose:

  • NORTH — Four baby red cardinals to remind me of each direction and to continue to lead me in the way of transformation.

  • SOUTH — An orange stone to remind me to continue to feel, move with and embody my sacral fire—the seat of creative life and female power!

  • EAST — A green stone to call in abundance, success, ancestry, roots and heart.

  • WEST — I am continuing to allow my self to receive. I am receiving this year. Listening and connecting to myself, with others and through actions in the world.

  • CENTER — And for my center, my swords that cut through to the truth and put me in touch with my own inner warrior and mother. Clear and directive. Sharp and beautiful. Protective and Strong. Nourishing and Resolute.

I then designed my Score for the Tamalpa Institute Level 2 Online Training Voice Class with Dohee Lee around embodying this compass.

I set up an altar space with all of my objects to work with them in an Academy for Soul-based Coaching gathering to set intentions for this new year, as well as the Tamalpa class on the same theme.

Dohee gave us an introduction to the Korean Shaman seasons or cycles of life, and I realized that my compass is pointing me into my middle age years. It is ushering me into the Summer of my life and providing some external flames to fan my inner fire. I am stepping into my own leadership, my own womanhood and into adulthood with power and grace thanks to these resources.

Working with these soulful artistic practices on my own inquiries has been profoundly healing and helped me integrate so much.

I am finally ready to expand outwards again, to put myself out there and connect with others who may be wanting to integrate and inquire this year as well.
