Meet Zara Rose.
Meet Zara Rose: the newest addition to my heart and business. Zara means many things including blooming flower, grief, beautiful radiance, and God remembers. In Russian, it means Princess or sovereign ruler, which her breeder, Natasha, of Majesty Meow probably intended.
Born on October 2, 2024, she is a Libra Wood Dragon, and she’s already teaching this Libra Wood Rat a lot about personality, mirroring and persona!
Zara is bold, curious, creative, smart, agile and independent. She is also loving, aggressively so, and bonded with me in the 2 hour drive through the Yucca Valley Mountains and desert as I sang Blue Roses to her, singing Zara Rose on the chorus sometimes instead of the original lyrics. She was born 6 minutes from the Joshua Tree, and I drove around the LA fires and through the smoke to bring her home on the same day my parents received me 40 years ago—January 12.
40 years and 6 days separates our births and 40 years separates our arrival day in our forever homes. The powerful symbols and connections between us are already mythic. While Kiki was my soul cat, Zara already feels like my destiny. She fills my heart, impresses my mind, and is so creative at getting what she wants, I know she’s going to keep on teaching me about mirroring this year and far beyond.
I look forward to seeing her personality develop as she grows and becomes her own “blooming flower.”
In the meantime, she plays like I used to, trying on various personas and entertaining herself (and me as her audience) as she moves through the different stages or landscapes of our home. She is already embodying my own mantra for my business this year borrowed from Shakespeare and suggested to me by my business coach: “All the world is my stage.” Watch little Zara and I as we find creative stages to be on this year!
